Vandy lone SEC program to elude 2010 draft
The Vanderbilt baseball program successfully maneuvered through another ominous offseason, getting all of its recruits to bypass the Major League draft to enroll this fall.
The Commodores were the only SEC program to not have a recruit elect to bypass college and go straight to professional baseball. Louisiana State, Tennessee and Alabama each had three signees bolt for the pro ranks rather than enroll at their respective school of choice. Georgia, Arkansas and Florida each lost two elite recruits to the pros.
According to NCAA rules, once a baseball recruit fails to sign a professional scholarship by midnight, August 16, they are not eligible to play professional baseball for at least three years.
