The road treats TE Marcus well
Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard West three star ranked junior tight end prospect Nathan Marcus (6-foot-5, 210 pounds) spent most of his spring break last week on the road checking out schools out East. Marcus made three unofficial visits and came away with three new scholarship offers and talks about his travels in this update.
"I spent most of my spring break last week on the road," Marcus said. "It was a good chance to see a few schools in person and to get to know the coaches better. Overall I had a really good week and it was a productive week for me."
Marcus made unofficial visits last week to Duke, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt and Marcus landed scholarship offers from all three schools.
"Duke offered me on my visit and I really enjoyed my visit to Duke. Duke has a great coaching staff and honestly I didn't find a thing I didn't ;like about Duke. They have a great school and campus, the facilities are top notch and they offer a great education. I really didn't really have a ton of contact with Duke but the coaches had some really good things to ay about my game."
"Wake Forest is a smaller sized school compared to the other schools I've been to but it's also a great looking school and I felt really comfortable there. I didn't know much about Wake Forest until my visit but I feel that I was able to really get to know the school much better. The coaches at Wake Forest said I was the top tight end prospect for them and they offered me before we left campus. The coaches are really excited about me and it was good to come away with an offer."
"Vanderbilt was easily my favorite visit so far. Vanderbilt is just a great school and the coaches really went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel welcomed. The coaches just showed us a ton of personal attention on the visit. Academically it doesn't get much better than Vanderbilt, plus they play in one of the best conferences in the country in the SEC. The coaches at Vanderbilt really impressed me and they seem like a great bunch of guys to play for and they also know what they are doing. I would say if I had to name a favorite right now it would be Vanderbilt
Marcus is still planning to make an early college choice.
"I'm pretty much done making visits for now. I don't have anything scheduled for now. I might do one or two camps this summer or I might make a few unofficial visits this summer before I make my final college choice."
Nathan Marcus has scholarship offers from Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Toledo, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Northwestern.
