Power surge finally comes
When Curt Casali, Jason Esposito and Aaron Westlake departed after last season, we all knew that Vanderbilt likely wouldn't be among the Southeastern Conference's leaders in home runs. On the other hand, we didn't expect the Commodores to have just 15 homers in their first 40 games, with the team leader at the time having just three.
The last seven games, though, the 'Dores been raking with nine homers - four from Connor Harrell, two each from Conrad Gregor and Spencer Navin, and one from Mike Yastrzemski. Not only that, but the extra-base hits keep coming in other ways, too; VU has 13 doubles and four triples over that span as well.
