How to play with plays

Happy game week to you, Vanderbilt fans! We've got an opportunity to do some good work this Saturday as we travel down to Athens to take on the UGA Bulldogs and coach Mark Richt. It might be the debut for a new quarterback against a Southeastern Conference team and also at several other positions as since Joe Townsend (ahem! a former Commando as well) is starting now at center for the second week in a row.

Vanderbilt can improve in multiple areas, but this week, let's concentrate on the offensive side of the ball. One of the most glaring issues this year has been in the play execution and therefore the play calling during our contests so far, so I thought, over the next few articles, I'd detail some ways in which we can analyze and educate ourselves on motion and alignment, and look at some specific plays so we can discuss how they are designed to maximize yardage or influence play in specific situations.
