Hoops question No. 1: Who will score from outside?

With practice set to start in three weeks (unofficial workouts began when the student athletes enrolled for fall semester), there's a buzz around the program that has rarely been present during Kevin Stallings 13-year tenure. As we count down to the opening tip-off, VandySports.com breaks down the five biggest questions heading into the 2012-13 season.

Stallings' 13 year at Vanderbilt isn't just a new season. It's a new era.

Gone from VU is the most prolific starting five in school history: Brad Tinsley, Jeff Taylor, John Jenkins, Lance Goulbourne and Festus Ezeli. All five are playing professionally, three in the NBA. Also gone is the program's back-up center, Steve Tchiengang.

The six take an average of 65 points per game right out the back door of Memorial Gym.

Also gone is the team's longest-tenured assistant, Dan Muller. Muller -- who is the new head coach at his alma mater, Illinois State -- was the program's most recognized voice on the recruiting trail.

With the SEC now at 14 members, and the defending national champion, this new basketball season will be like none in the conference's history. The year will be the biggest test of Stallings' coaching career.

Question No. 1: Who will replace the outside scoring of John Jenkins and Jeffrey Taylor?
