With so many new faces, Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings knew this team would have growing pains. In their first exhibition game last Saturday, there was a lot more pain than growth. Tonight was the opposite.

With oft-injured center Josh Henderson getting a surprising 12 minutes of playing time, Stallings saw his team look more like a team. Leading a surprisingly athletic Delta State wire-to-wire, Vanderbilt finished preseason with a 2-0 record, winning 69-48.

VU opens the regular season this Saturday with a home game versus McNeese State.
