Auburn (8-9 overall, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) visits Nashville on Wednesday night. Here's a look at coach Tony Barbee's club, which has recently put a scare into a few good teams.

Season overview

Like Vanderbilt, Auburn had a rough start, coming out of the gate at 2-5 with only one of those losses (Dayton, 72) coming to a team in Ken Pomeroy's current top 100. A terrible loss to Winthrop (260) came just before Christmas, before the Tigers recovered to nearly beat Illinois (60). The new year then started well with an out-of-conference win over Florida State (85), followed by wins over LSU and South Carolina.

A double-overtime loss to Arkansas on the road ended coach Tony Barbee's three-game winning streak, and then the Tigers returned home only to get blown out by 22 by Kentucky after going 0-of-15 from 3-point range.
