Six key questions about Missouri
As part of our normal game-week coverage, we seek out a beat writer of one of VU's opponents to give us perspective on that opponent. This week, we go to PowerMizzou's Gabe DeArmond to ask six key questions about Missouri.
1. James Franklin was pretty electric a couple of seasons ago, accounting for nearly 4,000 yards of offense. Last year, injuries and pressure to perform seemed to wreck his season. This year, he's gotten off to a great start, though he's done it against defenses that aren't in the same universe as to what he's about to face. Can the balance of 2013 resemble what we've seen so far?
That's the big question. If the answer is yes, the Tigers are in for a pretty good season. The biggest difference is that Franklin is healthy. But Franklin has actually been better in 2013 than he was in 2011. He's been more consistent. In each game, he's put up between 289 and 404 yards of total offense. He had great stats in 2011, but he'd be ridiculously good in one game and pretty bad in the next one. He's been very steady in the first four games this year, admittedly, as you say, against questionable defenses.
