Wooten’s high school career comes to end

MATTHEWS, N.C.- For those who have been fortunate enough to play high school football in their lifetime, few things are more painful than walking off the field for the last time with teammates.
North Carolina verbal commitment Jay Wooten had to make that bitter walk Friday night, as Scotland County dropped a 21-17 decision to Butler in the first round of the NCSHAA 4-AA state playoffs.
"It was a tough game. I had probably one of the worst games I ever had," said Wooten. "I hate it for all the seniors; it was a terrible way to go out."
