Pitt-Louisville notebook

# Louisville jumped out to a 14-0 first half lead but the Pitt defense kept the Panthers in the game and the surprise of many in Papa John Stadium Pitt tied the game with 4:10 remain to tie the score at 17-17.

# The Cardinals marched 70 yards in only 7 plays to go ahead 24-17. After the game Coach Dave Wannstedt said the big gainer for Louisville came on a pick play which resulted in a receiver coming wide open to move the Cards deep into Pitt territory.

# LeSean McCoy ripped for three nice runs after the kickoff and then Pat Bostick hit Oderick Turner for what at first appeared to tie the game. The review of the replay placed the ball at the one-yardline. Freshman quarterback Pat Bostick and freshman running back LeSean McCoy fumbled the handoff exchange and Pitt's hopes of an upset went down the drain. Immediately After the game Coach Wannstedt brought McCoy and Bostick into the media room. Both players try to accept responsibility for the fumble so the burden did not fall on his teammate.

# Coach Wannstedt said after the game he was proud of their effort and that Pitt would win a lot of games if McCoy and Bostick continue to play like they did today. He said they would both have great careers.
