Signee Update: AJ McCarron

High school: Mobile St. Paul's.
Commitment Date: 5/3/08.
Recruited By: Jim McElwain.
Present size: "I have actually grown a little bit; I am 6-5 192 pounds."
On his current workout routine: "I work out four to six days a week. I am doing everything as far as weight training. My personal trainer was the strength and conditioning coach at Alabama from 200-2003, and was also at Louisiana Tech. He really knows the fourth quarter program and he is good friends with coach Scott Cochran (current Strength and Conditioning coach at UA). So I am basically doing everything Alabama does."
On his reporting date: "I will be there for the first semester of summer, so I will come in on June 1."
On his future roommate: "Trent (Richardson), Nico (Johnson), and Big Fluk (D.J. Fluker), but I don't know yet. We haven't really got it set in stone."
Self-description of playing style: "I just try to help my teammates and be a leader. I think that is one of my best qualities. I work real hard off the field, like in the film room. I think I can make plays and make any throw on the field."
On his freshman goals: "Go in and work hard, and just do whatever the team needs me to do. At the end of the day it is all about the team not me. I'll do anything if I have to run scout team, hold the clipboard, be second string, or play my freshman year I will be ready for it."
On playing in all star games: "Playing in those games are alot of fun and you get to meet so many people. It also helps you adjust to the speed of the game by playing against some of the best players in the country."
On something people don't know about you: " I like to play golf a lot when I have the time."
On favorite food: "Anything from a fast food restaurant that is made of chicken"
On favorite movie: "I would have to say Pistol. It is a movie about Pistol Pete Maravich"
On his dream car: "I can't think of a car so I would have to say a private jet."
