February 13, 2013NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Tennessee got a double-double from Jordan McRae and Jarnell Stokes just missed another, as the Vols led comfortably at the break and never really let Vanderbilt back in the game in a 58-46 win in Memorial Gym on Wednesday evening.
Vanderbilt trailed by a dozen at half after the Vols, led by Jarnell Stokes' 14, Trae Golden's 11 and Jordan McRae's 10, hit 53.3 percent from the floor before the break.
Vanderbilt's Kedren Johnson (11 points) was the only Commodore to register double-figure scoring, despite being forced from the game for several minutes of the second half as he re-aggravated a shoulder injury that's bothered him all season.
Vandy shot just 37.7 percent from the field, 21.4 percent from 3-point range, and hit just three of its six free throws. After making three of their six 3-point attempts in the first half, Vanderbilt went 0-for-8 behind the line in the second half.
The Commodores dropped to 9-14 overall and 3-8 in the Southeastern Conference. Tennessee is now 13-10 overall, and 5-6 in the SEC.
McRae had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Stokes added 17 and 10.
