Just curious, do we believe Jesus would delve into "epistemology"? At John 17:17 Jesus said this Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth.

Yes. That statement is not only epistemological, but it is epistemological.

Do you in every case take the Bible literally? (Not judging, i'm curious.)

no,

for instance the woman describled at Revelation 12:1 would be a big old girl.

But too there is much symbolism in the bible for instance, as simple one is

At Genesis 11:1 Now all the earth continued to be of one language and of one set of words

if I were to take this literally then I would have to conclude that the planet earth can talk. But in reality it is obvious that the "earth" at times means the society of people living on it. So when we read that the earth will be destroyed it is not talking about the planet earth but the society of people that are alienated from God. BTW this is consistent with many other scriptures.

Do I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God? Yes, absolutely and would see little point if men acted on their own. The book has survived many attacks to eliminate it or change it but it has survived and shockingly intact when compared to....say the manuscripts found that predate the common area. The Dead Sea scrolls are a great example. There are other convincing lines of evidence that it is from a higher source than man.

On my part there is no need to feel like we are walking on pins and needles. If Someone makes a claim they should be able to defend it and I have no problem at all with that, in fact I live for discussing this subject with anyone if they are willing to listen and be reasonable. Just like Jesus though, if I feel like someone is just wanting to argue then I do not really have much time for that.

Thanks for asking!

Anyone can pick out a scripture and claim some meaning but from what I have found the bible is not in conflict with its self so if one scripture does not seem to match, either I am totally wrong about the Bible or what I think it is saying is off. Like 2 Tim 3:16 says, All Scripture is "inspired" for "teaching" and "setting matters straight".

One fellow says there is a place where God will burn poeple for ever and another says not.... Both can not be right and according to the Bible (and it makes sense to be this way) is the thing that can be used set the matter straight.

You may not have been referring to my earlier post but I just felt like weighing in. If it was and you disagree maybe you could help point me in the right direction where I misapplied it. Please.
