InG, I'm so far removed from this thread, but I believe the only key question was addressed (at least in part) -- which was why certain parts of the old Testament in particular were ignored while others were maintained.
As for the list, that guy does use his chalkboard to mock (this isn't the only list I've seen of his), but there's nothing mocking in that particular list. I think and I hope you agree that asking why certain prohibitions are ignored while others are promoted on a societal level (often outside the church) is a very legitimate question.
If you're interested, I don't recall that I ever got a true explanation of how one determines what is meant to be taken literally and what is meant to be metaphor (question "a"). Care to give that one a shot? Alternatively, if there's a website that you like addressing this issue, please feel free to just link rather than rehashing.
