Here's the thread on UNC's scout board. Towards the end one poster says Vandy won by double digits, but I don't know if it's true.

The word on the scrimmage (and I am not revealing sources, though UNC fans have a lot of information about a "secret scrimmage") was that Vandy shot over UNC's zone, particularly in the 2nd half. UNC's guards (young) had great difficulty stopping Beal, who was about 5-6 from behind the arc. Taylor was flying all over the place, 3-4 dunks. Jenkins was solid, too. Our passing was sharp. Walker apparently played well, too. Festus had at least 2 blocks.

Our defense was very good, particularly in the second half. UNC had trouble getting the ball into their bigs.

In the second half we really pulled away, particularly due to Beal.

There was also a second 20 minute "game" where the score was much closer and we did not shoot as well.

Temper this news with a few facts: 1) UNC is young this year; 2) it was a scrimmage; 3) UNC has had a whopping 3 weeks of formal practices; we went to Australia in August; and 4) remember, we do not talk about fight club.

Agreed, but your 3rd point is key to why this squad will be great. They are going to have better chemistry and more practice experience than a lot of teams due to the hard summer workouts and a productive trip to Australia.

I also don't talk about Fight Club, but I will talk about my Fightcrib located close to beautiful Peabody campus. I am turning the attic into a guest suite. Just finished with ceiling drywall on Saturday.

I look forward to seeing you all at Memorial and beyond in a week or 2. Peace..

Not surprised...you guys are going to have a great year I believe.

I wrote the following (an update of something I wrote last year) as a literary piece to commemorate the UNC-Vandy scrimmages...a little over the top, possibly, but wanted to write about it while I felt the inspiration. Hope you enjoy.
