About South Carolina
Things have gone from bad to worse for the Gamecocks and coach Darrin Horn. South Carolina finished last in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division last season, and now that the divisional format has been abolished, the Gamecocks are on a collision course to finish last among the league's 12 teams.
With four games remaining in conference play, Carolina is in sole possession of last place, and if by chance it goes 0-for-4, the Gamecocks will tie with several other teams for the fewest wins since Alabama went 1-17 in the league in the 1968-69 season.
What's worse is that most of the losses haven't been close. Eight of the 10 in league play have come by double-digits. Even Carolina's two victories were close: a one-point win against Georgia, and a two-point victory vs. Alabama, both coming in Columbia.
