Toughness, defense help Vanderbilt advance
It doesn't matter how you get it done in the NCAA Tournament - as long as you get it done.
Vanderbilt can certainly attest to that fact.
In was a game billed as a battle of wits between two of the nation's most prestigious academic programs, it was toughness and determination that proved to be the difference, whether on defense or on the glass.
Looking for its first tournament victory since 2007, Vanderbilt used a stingy defensive approach to finally get over the hump, 79-70, against Harvard and secure a win in the "Big Dance" for this current group of players.
