Buehler turns down Pirates, sticks with Vandy

You win some, and you lose some. At the end of the 2012 recruiting process, Vanderbilt did a little of both.

At the final tally, VU baseball head coach Tim Corbin lost two of his 11 incoming recruits to the Major League draft. First baseman Matt Olson and pitcher Collin Wiles signed professional contracts with the Athletics and Rangers, respectively.

But it could have been a lot worse. Wiles' projected roommate at Vanderbilt, Lexington''s Walker Buehler, turned down $800,000 from the Pirates to go to college.
