Six key questions aout Wake

Vanderbilt plays Wake Forest in its regular-season finale tomorrow, and with that,'s Chris Lee asks's Ben Doster six key questions about the Demon Deacons.

1. Jim Grobe had one of the more remarkable success stories from 2006-08 when he took Wake Forest to 11-3, 9-4 and 8-5 seasons, but he's not had a winning campaign since then and is now below .500 in his career in Winston-Salem. What happened to cause such a drop-off?

The ACC's traditional powers were down 2006-08, and Wake Forest was obviously up. Though the ratings did not show it the Demon Deacons were bringing in a higher caliber of talent since that three-year stretch of success. Also, the rest of the ACC improved, especially Atlantic Division rivals Clemson and Florida State as Wake fell off. In short, life became normal once again.
