Columbia's Harris talks Vandy, recruiting

After a strong showing at Vanderbilt's camp in July, Vanderbilt became the first school to offer tight end Jackson Harris. The Commodores have not let up in their pursuit of the local tight end, but that hasn't stopped others as his number of offers has hit double digits. With the increased interest, college recruiters are flooding Columbia, Tenn.

"Recruiting has definitely turned up some in the past couple of weeks. It's been busy. It's been real busy," said Harris.

"Last Monday, Tennessee stopped by, then Purdue. On Thursday, coach Richt from Georgia stopped by and also a coach from Mississippi State. Virginia Tech stopped by to see me. Another coach from Georgia came, and I have also talked to Northwestern. Coach (John) Donavan from Vanderbilt came to see me last Friday, and I believe coach (James) Franklin is supposed to come see me this Friday."

In addition to his offer from Vanderbilt, Harris has added offers from Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Clemson, Mississippi State, Virginia, and Memphis. Alabama, Ohio State, and others are showing interest.
