Ga. Hoops Showcase top underclassmen

MORE: Georgia Hoops Fall Showcase Top 2009 Performers | Top 2010 Performers

Youth was served at the Georgia Hoops Fall Showcase this year as a handful of 2011 prospects and one 2012 prospect stood out last weekend. Rivals.com's Justin Young looks back at the young players that caught his eye at the event.

Georgia Hoops Fall Showcase Top Underclassmen
SG Malcolm Brogdon, Fayetteville (Ga.) Fayette County (2011 class)
Remember his name. There is a good chance he takes his profile to the next level this season. The 6-foot-4 guard knows how to score the ball. He can shoot, score off the bounce, attack with confidence and handle the ball with little trouble. He was one of the nice surprises of the camp and will certainly be seen by a lot of schools this year with his high school team traveling the country with an aggressive schedule. Mid to high-majors will want to get a peek at him.
PF Henry Brooks, Lithonia (Ga.) Miller Grove (2011)
The long and lanky big man has developed quite a bit physically in the last 12 months. He's working with more upper body strength and that has helped his development inside the paint as a scorer and rebounder. Brooks is still much more a prospect than producer at this level but the flashes of what can be were there last weekend at the camp. He'll be one of the more sought-after big men in Georgia's 2011 class.
C Tim Dixon, Columbus (Ga.) Kendrick (2011)
Potential, potential, potential. That is the key word with the 6-foot-9 big man from Columbus. Like Brooks, Dixon showed flashes of brilliance at the camp. He's an active post presence as a shot-blocker and rebounder. Dixon stepped out and hit a handful of baseline jumpers and showed some skill around the cup as a scorer inside the paint. Added strength will only improve his game. He's one to keep an eye on.
SF E. Victor Nickerson, Atlanta (Ga.) Paideia (2011)
When it comes to overall prospect value, there were few inside the gym that had the kind of potential that the 6-foot-6 wing possesses. He is an active and athletic presence on the wing. Nickerson has the tools to be a big-time scorer, rebounder and defender at his position. His ball-handling is solid and his game seems to be just scratching the surface of what kind of player he can eventually become. Nickerson will likely be recruited at the high-major level.
C Tony Parker, Lithonia (Ga.) Miller Grove (2012)
It could be argued that the freshman was the best post player in the entire camp. The 6-foot-8, 255-pound Class of 2012 prospect dominated his match-ups against 2009 Rivals150 prospect Shawn Kemp and used his giant frame to establish position on the low blocks. He's incredibly comfortable for a player of his age with his back to the basket. Parker knows how to put the ball in the basket and has great hands. Keeping in shape and learning how to be more explosive off the floor will likely be the separating factor as far as him being a good high-major player and a great high-major player.
PG/SG Kymmon Woods, Gainesville (Ga.) East Hall (2011)
Whether it was at the one spot or two spot, Woods was making plays. The 6-foot-3 sophomore has a great frame that could easily rival that of a defensive back on the gridiron. He played like a defensive specialist at times, too. Woods played well on both ends of the ball and showed off a good enough touch as a ball-handler to be a player that is recruited by mid to high level programs as a point guard. Overall, it was a good day's work for Woods.
