Comeback fails: Kentucky beats Vanderbilt 69-63

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Vanderbilt's spectacular comeback from a 13-point halftime deficit ran out of steam, as No. 1 Kentucky handed the Commodores their fifth home-court defeat this season by a 69-63 final score on Saturday night.
The Commodores got 15 points from John Jenkins, and 13 each from Jeffery Taylor, Festus Ezeli and Brad Tinsley and led 63-61 with 4:07 to play.

But UK got a wide-open 3-pointer from Doron Lamb with 3:15 left to start an 8-0 run, as Vanderbilt was unable to get good looks against a stingy Wildcat defense down the stretch.
VU led 9-8 early just six minutes in, but the rest of the first half became a nightmare from there. Kentucky out-scored the Commodores 28-14 from that point on to take a 36-23 halftime lead.
The Commodores' problems were numerous. First, they were out-scoured 26-6 in the paint, and shot 28 percent vs. 53 for the Wildcats.
Lamb led UK with 16 points.
