George Drake transferring

NASHVILLE - Senior guard George Drake has decided to transfer for his fifth year of eligibility after graduating with a Vanderbilt degree in Sociology this past May. Drake is seeking a waiver from the NCAA to gain immediate eligibility at another Division One program.
"After George initially investigated his opportunities of continuing his education, he decided it would be in his best interest for him to go elsewhere," said Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings.

"We fully support this decision and we wish him the best. He will always be a member of the Vanderbilt basketball family," continued Stallings. "We think the world of George and his family, and it was a pleasure to coach him in his four years at Vanderbilt."
Drake redshirted in his initial season on the Vanderbilt campus in 2005 and played three years for the Commodores on the hardwood. Drake played in 96 games in his career and started in five, averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds. Drake's career high of 18 points came against South Carolina this past season in Columbia on January 28.
