Hawaii DL commits to Vanderbilt

The Commodores landed their latest commitment from Lolani (Hi.) defensive lineman Jonah Buchanan.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect popped up on Vanderbilt's radar late, receiving an offer from the Commodores on Tuesday morning and promptly giving his verbal pledge.

The Honolulu product is excited about his next journey in working with defensive line coach C.J. Ah You.

"They see me as a 3-technique/defensive end. Coach Ah You, he likes my explosiveness and my ability to get off blocks. He said he's going to work with me so I'm pretty excited."

The under the radar prospect held an offer from San Diego and also had a walk-on offer from Hawai'i.

Buchanan noted that he will likely visit Vanderbilt sometime next month.
