At 6-foot-2, 217-pounds, Vanderbilt sees George as an option at running back with the likelihood of transitioning into playing numerous positions on both offense and defense.
He is the son of Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George, but unlike his father, the younger George flourished on the defensive side of the ball at outside linebacker for one of the East Coast's premier football programs.
The Commodores reached out to the talented senior earlier this week and on Tuesday, George confirmed with VandySports.com that he was being recruited as a running back and would be taking an official visit this weekend.
With his commitment, George joins Josh Crawford of Edgewood Academy (Ala.) as running back commitments for the 2015 class.
