NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Vanderbilt's John Jenkins scored a career-high 32 points and game up with a pair of loose balls on the defensive end in the game's final minutes, as Vanderbilt knocked off Kentucky by an 81-77 score at Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
With the Commodores up 71-69 late, the sophomore guard corralled the ball after Jeffery Taylor knocked it loose, fed Taylor, and watched as he converted a fast-break lay-up on the other end to put Vandy up four.
On the next possession, Jenkins picked up another steal, and this time, finished by himself to put the 'Dores up six.
Kentucky's Doron Lamb and Terrence Jones each hit a pair of big 3s down the stretch, but VU's Festus Ezeli hit two key free throws, and Brad Tinsley hit four.
The Commodores improved to 18-6 and 6-4 in Southeastern Conference play.
