Updated Mid-State Top 15
Middle Tennessee may not be considered a traditional hot bed for college football talent but with each passing year, the area has seemed to become a destination for college programs all over the southeast and midwest. Forty-one prospects from the area have signed with FBS programs over the past two years and at least 21 prospects currently hold FBS subdivision offers this fall with several other prospects firmly on the radar of major programs.
In June, VandySports.com published its annual Mid-State Top 15 prospect ranking for the 2011 recruiting class. Now the Nashville based website releases an updated version of the ranking.

Based out of the Nashville area, VandySports.com spends a lot of time following the middle Tennessee high school scene, attending several mid-state games each fall. The Mid-State Top 15 rankings are based upon seeing each prospect in action at least once as a junior and senior.
VandySports.com plans to issue the final edition of the ranking in late January.
Three players make their first appearance in the ranking, including Brentwood Academy quarterback Matthew Hamby after an impressive start to his senior year. Meanwhile, another Eagles prospect, William Beaird, jumped three spots from the previous ranking into the top 10.
Ensworth's Rodney Anderson dropped from the ranking due to a season-ending knee injury in August. Brentwood Academy running back Victor Caro, Pearl-Cohn athlete Senquay Eichelberger and McGavock quarterback Kody McKinley also missed the cut the second time around, despite having solid senior seasons.
Others considered for the ranking included Montgomery Bell Academy lineman Connor Caldwell, Mt. Juliet receiver Vaughn Cornelia, Pearl-Cohn linebacker Nick Dance, Oakland athlete Buddy Mitchell, Overton athlete Tracy Hampton, Maplewood linebacker Dewayne Smith and Smyrna two-way player Alex Vick.
