Vandy gets commitment from N.C. defensive end

Orange (N.C.) defensive end prospect Stone Edwards came into his weekend official visit without an offer from the Commodores, but by the time he left Nashville that all changed.

Vanderbilt has expressed in the 6-foot-5, 240-pound prospect for quite a while before he step foot on West End. The staff clearly liked what they saw in Edwards personally and physically, which promptly committed soon thereafter.

The under-rated defensive end prospect took an official visit to Army earlier this month and also had offers Air Force, Buffalo, Miami (Oh.), and others.

Edwards becomes the 15th verbal commitment in the Commodores and joins fellow defensive line commitments Jalen Pinkney and Dayo Odeyingbo in the 2017 class.
