Vandy slams UNC-Greensboro, 85-53
Vanderbilt went on an early 16-0 run to open an 18-3 lead and never looked back en route to a 85-53 rout of UNC-Greensboro. Four Commodores – Julian Terrell (17 points), Shan Foster (16), Derrick Byars (15), and DeMarre Carroll (15) – reached double-digit scoring for Vandy, who improved to 3-0 on the year.
The Commodores started slowly, missing seven consecutive shots after Ted Skuchas opened the game with a layup.

But Foster's three-pointer at the 13:59 mark of the first half got the show rolling, and it was off to the races for Vandy. Vandy would build the lead to 32-6 at the 4:45 mark, and the visitors would pull no closer than 24 for the rest of the night.
"Hard, tough game from the standpoint of keeping it clean," said VU coach Kevin Stallings. "We got off to a big lead, and our defense was really outstanding in the first half."
Vanderbilt forced 16 first-half turnovers and limited the Spartans to 22% field goal shooting. The visitors did not reach double-digit scoring until 2:53 remaining in the first half.
The game marked the return of point guard Mario Moore from a three-game suspension. Moore notched 19 minutes, scoring four points and adding two assists, a rebound, and a steal.
Byars 15 points were a season high for the Virginia transfer, who added four rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 27 minutes.
Vandy will travel to Georgetown for their first road contest of the season on Saturday. The Commodores will then return home to face Oregon the following Wednesday.
