Vandys Taylor named SEC Player of the Week

Vanderbilt's men's basketball team continued to rack up weekly conference honors today, when sophomore forward Jeffrey Taylor was named SEC Player of the Week.
Taylor averaged 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in wins over No. 12 Tennessee and LSU. The Sweden native also scored a career-high 26 points in Vanderbilt's win over Tennessee, including a perfect 12-for-12 from the foul line.

Taylor's perfect charity stripe effort was only the fourth time in school history that a Vanderbilt player was perfect from the free throw line when attempting 10 or more shots.
He also scored 15 points to go with five rebounds in a win over LSU.
Taylor ranks 20th in th SEC in scoring at 13.9 points per game, and 10th in the conference in field goal percentage.
Taylor is the second men's basketball student athlete to receive Player of the Week honors this season. Junior center A.J. Ogilvy claimed the honor in week four of the SEC regular season.
Gallatin, TN native John Jenkins has twice been recognized as SEC Freshman of the Week.
