Hawaii LB target chooses Vandy

Maui (Hi.) inside linebacker Feleti Afemui first received an offer from Vanderbilt back in April, now the 3-star prospect is a part of the Commodores' 2017 class after giving his verbal pledge on Saturday night.

The Maui product was a priority in this class from the beginning and particularly in the months of December and January, where the Vanderbilt coaching staff made two trips to the Aloha State for in-home visits with Afemui.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect chose the Commodores over offers from Hawaii, Washington State, Army, and Utah.

Afemui is currently on his official visit to Vanderbilt this weekend. The only other official visit he took was to Hawaii back in December.

He becomes the 16th overall commitment for the Commodores and joins Dimitri Moore, Colin Anderson, and Nico Bolden as linebacker pledges in this class.
