Clark Lea and staff have made instate recruiting a priority, and the Commodores are keeping tabs on Munford defensive back Jordan Bell. The 6-foot-3 and 185-pound corner recently visited West End, and he likes the Commodore program.

“The Vanderbilt visit went great. It is definitely a place I could see myself fitting in at. They will be down for spring ball, and we will take it from there,” said Bell.

“If Vanderbilt offered, I would have interest because I love the energy that they have. The coaches and players’ relationship towards each other is incredible. Not to mention, they have a great academic program.”

Bell is a standout quarterback at Munford, but Vanderbilt is recruiting him on the defensive side of the ball.

“Vanderbilt likes me at corner. They like that I meet all the aspects body wise and measurements, and they like my physicality. They want to see me move a little bit from the defensive backs perspective, but I think they will love it when they see that,” said Bell.

“I talk to Coach Jackson, but everyone on the coaching staff still checks up to see how I’m doing from time to time.”

Bell holds offers from Memphis, Howard, Army, Chattanooga, Mississippi Valley State, Austin Peay, Southeast Missouri State, and Alabama State. He’s receiving Power-5 interest from Vanderbilt and Louisville.
