Finally! Jenkins leads Vandy to SEC title game

Vanderbilt's John Jenkins scored 23 points to help the Commodores to a 65-53 victory over Ole Miss, leading VU to its first Southeastern Conference title game since 1951.
Jenkins played 39 minutes and hit 7-of-17 shots, as both teams hit 41 percent from the field, but VU's nine 3-pointers compared to the Rebels' three were the difference.

The 'Dores won the rebounding battle 33-28, and was able to pull away from Ole Miss midway through the second half. It was the third game in three days for Ole Miss, which went to overtime against Tennessee on Friday.
Vandy led 25-23 at the half, and trailed 32-31 with 16:13 left. But a pair of Jenkins foul shots with 14:12 left put VU ahead for good.
Jarvis Summers led Ole Miss with 15 points. Brad Tinsley (12 points) and Lance Goulbourne (10) scored in double-digits for Vandy, and Goulbourne pulled a game-high 12 rebounds.
VU will play Kentucky at noon Central on Sunday.
