Tinsleys late jumper pushes Vandy past Oregon State

Vanderbilt's Brad Tinsley hit a jumper with 4.5 seconds left to break open a tie game, as the Commodores knocked off Oregon State 64-62 to win the TicketCity Legends Classic in East Rutherford, N.J., on Monday night.
Oregon State had just tied the game with 33 seconds left when Ahmad Starks hit a long two-point jumper to pull the Beavers even for the first time all game.

But off an inbounds pass with 12.9 seconds left, the ball went to Tinsley in the backcourt. He went right, got around a screen from Steve Tchiengang, got inside the 3-point arc and headed to the bucket before suddenly pulling up, got brief separation on Stokes, then launched the game-winning shot over the outstretched arm of the shorter defender.
The Beavers' Jared Cunningham, closely guarded by Jeffery Taylor, came up well short on a baseline shot as time expired.
OSU led for a good portion of the first half, but Vandy tied the game at the break on a pair of Tchiengang foul shots with time expired at the halftime buzzer. The 'Dores then went on an 8-0 run to start the second half, and led by nine moments later.
John Jenkins had 14 points for Vanderbilt, Taylor had 13, and Tinsley added nine.
Devon Collier scored a game-high 19, and Starks added 16 for OSU.
Jenkins was the tournament's MVP, and Taylor also made the all-tournament team.
