Vanderbilt's NCAA Tournament hopes will be largely dependent on a decision that will be made before its players even leave school for the summer.
Vanderbilt guard Tyrin Lawrence announced on Monday that he will put his name in the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility.
Lawrence will need to make a decision as to whether to keep his name in the draft or to return to school by June 12th.
The guard isn't currently projected to be drafted but could benefit from positive workouts in front of teams as well as feedback.
Down the stretch of Southeastern Conference play, Lawrence emerged as the Commodores' go-to scorer on the perimeter and averaged 13.1 points per game on the season.
If the rising senior decides to return to school, he and Ezra Manjon will project to be one of the SEC's best backcourt duos.
If Lawrence opts to leave school, Vanderbilt will have to scramble to replace one of its leading scorers late in the process.
Lawrence and Jordan Wright's decisions on whether or not to return could be the biggest storylines to follow around Vanderbilt's program this spring.
