Vanderbilt routs Auburn in SEC opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vanderbilt got 17 points from John Jenkins, 16 from Jeffery Taylor and 12 from Brad Tinsley, as the Commodores routed Auburn by a 65-35 score in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium.
The Commodores (11-4) have now won five-straight games.

Vanderbilt went on a 10-0 run early in the first half to lead 11-3 and remained in total control from there. By the time out at the 10:22 mark, VU led 24-9 and had connected in its first five 3-point attempts.
At halftime, the Commodores led 38-19 on 50 percent shooting, with Taylor and Tinsley each contributing 10, while the Tigers hit just 28.3 percent at the break.
VU got a dunk from Festus Ezeli and a 3 from Jenkins to open the second half, and the blow-out was on.
