Vanderbilt takes down Auburn

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Four players scored in double figures for Vanderbilt, as the Commodores beat Southeastern Conference rival Auburn by a 73-61 score in Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday night.
Kedren Johnson (15 points), Kyle Fuller (14), Kevin Bright (12), and Sheldon Jeter (10) led the way, as Vanderbilt went ahead in the final minutes of the first half and never looked back.

The Commodores (8-9, 2-3 SEC) led 55-39 after Johnson's 3 at the 10:59 mark, and though the Commodores went over four-and-a-half points without scoring in the moments to come, a zone defense kept the Tigers from slicing much into the lead.
Auburn managed to get within nine in the final two minutes, but the Commodores hit their free throws and held on easily.
The Commodores held a 34-27 lead at half behind nine points from Bright, eight from Johnson, and seven from Fuller. Vandy shot just 37.5 percent from the field, but was helped by an uncharacteristic 10-of-12 (80%) showing at the free throw line.
