Vandy lands 10th commitment

More: Haynie gives impression of Vanderbilt after visit

Vanderbilt landed their tenth commitment in the 2017 class on Friday evening when Cardinal Gibbons (Fla.) cornerback Randall Haynie announced his decision on Twitter.

Haynie was Vanderbilt's top cornerback target on their board and showed why just a week ago at the Friday Night Lights camp with his physical style of play, aggressiveness, and length.

"I was really impressed. I had a great time and I had a lot of fun. I was really impressed with the school and all the players seem like great people, all the coaches seem like family and they really care for their players," Haynie told VandySports.com after last weekend's visit.

When asked about his decision to become a Commodore, Haynie replied, "I loved the school and the environment."

The three-star prospect chose the Commodores over an extensive offer list that included the likes of Maryland, Duke, Michigan, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and a host of others.

He joins a defensive backfield class that also includes Dutchtown (La.) cornerback Adam Sparks and Northside (Ga.) safety Tae Daley.
